About
Munson Steed is a visionary publisher, author, and cultural leader dedicated to telling stories that uplift, educate, and empower. A graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in political science, Munson has spent his career amplifying voices often left out and creating spaces where creativity, identity, and purpose intersect.
His children’s book series Little Professor Skye and the broader Playful Genius brand bring to life colorful, bold characters that encourage young readers—especially children of color—to dream bigger, explore their talents, and see themselves reflected in stories. Munson believes that representation matters, and he writes from a place of intentionality: crafting narratives that not only entertain, but affirm culture, build confidence, and illuminate new possibilities for young minds.
Munson is also the co-writer of the gospel single “Look at God,” which climbed into the top ranks of the Billboard Gospel charts, a testament to his ability to bridge music, spirituality, and story. Beyond writing, he is a dynamic speaker and host, regularly moderating panels, keynotes, and conferences that explore media, innovation, and the future of storytelling. From exploring the role of AI in communities to leading conversations around cultural identity, Munson is equally comfortable behind the microphone, standing before audiences, or bringing people into dialogue.
At the heart of his work is a belief in transformation—through literature, through education, through community. Munson Steed’s mission is simple but powerful: to inspire, to create, and to leave a legacy of bold stories told by bold people.
