The top producers and songwriters of 2011-12 were honored at ASCAP’S 25TH Annual Rhythm & Soul Awards. Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, the event featured a toast by Steed Media Group’s CEO, Munson Steed. Steed congratulated all of the winners and gave a special thanks to Quincy Jones and Pharrell Williams for their lasting contributions to music.
“On behalf of Steed Media Group and Rolling out I’d like to congratulate ASCAP’s Rhythm and Soul department on an amazing 25 years. I’d also like to thank the winners and honorees tonight. Especially Quincy [Jones] and Pharrell [Williams]. I’d like to raise a toast to 25 years.”
Quincy Jones was given the Founder’s Award. Jones, who has been a staple in the music industry for over 60 years, joins the likes of past Founder’s Award winners which include Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Smokey Robinson, Tito Puente, Ashford & Simpson, Berry Gordy and Dr. Dre.
